Karangahape Road is a colourful and popular destination, with a flourishing residential and business community. As one of the busiest roads in the region, thousands of people travel along it daily. This growth is set to continue with a projected one million more people expected to call Auckland home over the next 30 years.


6/2/2020  · The Karangahape Road Enhancements project is being delivered by Auckland Council and Auckland Transport. It aims to preserve the road ‘s unique character and recognise the history of the area while creating an improved street environment to benefit the local community and businesses. The design has been a collaborative effort.


KARANGAHAPE ROAD ENHANCEMENTS CONSTRUCTION UPDATE The Karangahape Enhancements project is under way. Work on the next section of the project, from the Mobil on the corner of Ponsonby and Karangahape Roads, up to the corner of Howe Street, will begin on Monday 12 August 2019. This section is expected to take up to five months to complete.


The enhancements to go in along Karangahape Road have been divided into sections (see below). During the programme, there will be two to three sections under construction, at any one time. Work will begin on Monday 29 July 2019 at the Symonds Street end of Karangahape Road , from the cemetery on the corner to Upper Queen Street.
